Overview
I've never been much of a tea or coffee drinker. Instead, my drink of choice is hot chocolate.
What makes a good hot chocolate?
A good hot chocolate:
- Is made using milk, not water
- Isn't overly sweet or bitter
- Is reasonably priced (<£3.50)
- Is served warm/hot, never lukewarm
- Has the option of cream/marshmallows
The best hot chocolates are thick and creamy, made from real chocolate instead of powder!
My rating system
All drinks start at a 5, and gain/lose points depending on various factors.
A 'standard' deli hot chocolate made with water, but served with cream and marshmallows is a 5. I find that this is one of the most common ways hot chocolate is served, so it acts as a baseline!
An alright hot chocolate made with milk is usually a 6. I wouldn't regret ordering it, but it's nothing special. A 7 is a drink I'd order again for one reason or another.
Anything lower than a 5 was a negative experience. Anything lower than a 4 is more grit water than hot chocolate- AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Anything higher than a 7 I would specifically seek out to have again!
